NAET

NAET (Nambudripad’s allergy elimination technique) is a “non-invasive, drug free, a natural solution to eliminate allergies of all types and intensities using a blend of selective energy balancing, testing and treatment procedures from acupuncture/acupressure, allopathy, chiropractic, nutritional and kinesiological disciplines of medicine”. (NAET.com)

It was developed by Dr Devi Nambudripad in 1983 and is practiced by over 8000 practitioners worldwide. Dr Nambudripad is trained in kinesiology, chiropractic, acupuncture and Western medicine. She has combined these disciplines into an amazing drug free technique to help rebalance the body and thus reduce allergic tendencies.

NAET is based on Chinese medicine where illness is believed to be caused by energy blockages in the meridians. This results in changes to the energetic flow in the body. The blockage causes an interference in communication between the brain and body and is the first step in developing an allergic response. These energy blockages can be caused by inherited factors, toxins, from lowered immune responses, physical or emotional stresses, deficiencies, malabsorption of nutrients and/or radiation.

NAET can assist in the absorption of nutrients needed for optimum health and can assist in a reduction of sensitivity to drugs, chemicals, physical agents, moulds, fungi, inhalants and emotional stressors.

According to NAET, there are 15  basic substances that are the root cause of many allergic based illnesses. These include:

  • Imbalances between body and brain
  • Egg mix (poor utilisation of proteins)
  • Calcium mix (problems with calcium utilisation)
  • Vitamin C mix (problems with Vitamin C utilisation)
  • B complex (problems with utilising B vitamins)
  • Sugar mix (problems with sugar cravings, utilisation of sugar)
  • Iron mix (poor iron utilisation)
  • Vitamin A mix (poor utilisation of Vitamin A)
  • Mineral mix (imbalanced mineral levels, problems with heavy metals)
  • Salt mix (imbalanced sodium)
  • Grain mix (sensitivities to grains)
  • Yeast mix (sensitivities to yeasts)
  • Acid (disturbances to stomach acid leading to poor absorption of nutrients and disturbed bowel flora and pH)
  • Base (disturbances to digestive enzymes leading to digestive disturbances and malabsorption)
  • Hormones (imbalanced hormones cause numerous health issues)

The first six have been found to be at the root of allergic symptoms/sensitivities.

After an initial in-depth consultation, NAET consultations begin by testing for sensitivity to the basic 15 items in order, using kinesiology (muscle resistance testing) whilst holding each item. A balancing procedure is then carried out which involves massaging different points along the spine and bladder meridian on the back. Acupressure is then applied to the limbs whilst, at the same time, holding a vial of the allergen. This process helps to balance the body’s energies. By balancing the body whilst holding the allergen, the energy field of the allergen interacts with the body's energy field and the brain accepts the allergen as harmless. The allergen needs to be avoided for 25 hours after the balancing has taken place.

There is no magic bullet for regaining health and no treatment or practitioner can honestly claim to offer a “cure” to end sickness, pain and disease. However, NAET has helped countless people regain health and the hope of living a symptom free, pain free life.
